Mina scholarship program enables access to higher education to students from extremely disadvantaged backgrounds across the country for students by target students who exhibit hard work and a strong dedication to succeed, but cannot afford paying for their studies.
The OERu network includes recognised universities, polytechnics and community colleges from five continents. We are collaborating to widen access to more affordable education through social inclusion. The implementation of the OERu is also a formal project of the UNESCO-COL OER Chair network.
The objective of VASVU is to provide access to university education for students living in the Netherlands who have had schooling abroad but no direct entry into Dutch higher education. This intervention is part of the vision of the university to contribute to the community through education and research.
The project has the very ambitious goal to reach or at least contribute to gender equality in the Egyptian higher education sector, focusing in the staff level. A partnership between 5 Universities there was established, to exchange best practices as a first step. In the long run the project also might have an impact on the gender equality in society.
Through the project partnerships between University or University colleges and schools were established. Students take reasonability to prepare pupils for the access and working methods within academia. Both sides benefit of this partnership, as students learn to teach and take responsibility and pupils are provided on a very practical level the insight of academia but also in an emotional level might lose the fear of it.
The project targets the underrepresented groups in society in large which are for several different reasons not able to participate in academia. It aims to facilitate the access for pupils of these groups. The project relies mainly in financial grounds.
The Special Entry Admissions Scheme (SEAS) works by adjusting a students’ Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR): students from the applicable target groups are placed in categories and assigned points, which are used to supplement the students’ aggregate study score, and produce an adjusted ATAR. Through SEAS, Monash University considers potential students facing an array of disadvantaging factors.
Emergency Fund for the payment of tuition fees is a project developed by the Student Union of the Law Faculty of Nova University of Lisbon. Targeted at students who do nothave financial resources for enrolling into higher education, this project ensures appropriate funding giving everyone a chance to study. The initiative is developed in cooperation between the student union and the institution, and supported by fundraising activities ensuring a budget for such funding.
TX Generation is a community based project aiming at developing public opinion on higher education and increasing interest in it, presenting it as a key for better future. Programme ensures adequate information for future students as well as for parents, and coaches them on possibilities, administrative procedures, future perspectives, motivation.
This is a national umbrella project which enables partners in specific projects to fund a variety of initiatives. A Cordée de la Réussite (CdlR) is a partnership between one or several HEIs and high schools aiming at promoting equity of access and completion of students in first and second year of Higher Education.
